HATSUNE MIKU EXPO is a festival that presents multiple contents featuring Hatsune Miku, including an artwork exhibition focused on the virtual singer and the cultural movement that was inspired by her, fan gathering activities and as absolute highlight the Hatsune Miku concert show using cutting-edge projection technology and a live band.
The HATSUNE MIKU live concert is held in New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, and the exhibition is hosted in Lower East Side concept space Wallplay over a period of eleven days. The exhibition shows illustrations, videos and more, revolving around Hatsune Miku and the theme of Universal Positivity.
Hatsune Miku started out simply as software designed for music producers who aspired to virtually create vocal parts. But ever since, Hatsune Miku has traveled an interesting path from vocal synthesizer product to beloved collaboratively constructed cyber celebrity with a growing user community across the world.
Hatsune Miku is also often called a global icon or 'hub', because the culture around her encourages a worldwide creative community to produce and share Miku-related content.
